If you have been with me for a while then you know how much I love Cave Tools. I have been honored to have reviewed many of their products and today I get the privilege of reviewing their Stainless Steel 17" BBQ Skewers

I love Skewers there are so many different types you can make. Chicken, beef, pork sausage, wild game, fish and more. Wooden skewers are typically what most folks use. But I am not a fan of them. First, you have to soak them so they won't burn and then they usually burn anyway. The meat and veggies while your cooking no matter how careful you are will spin so your fighting with a fork to get all the cooked sides facing up and the uncooked sides on the bottom. Then when you slide your food off there's a good chance the skewer will splinter. Nothing like a wooden splinter in your food right?  With the Cave Tool Skewers you don't have to soak them they are stainless steel. The skewers are flat so when you flip them over there is no spinning the food stays in place and they are extra thick so they won't bend no matter how much food you add on it!

In the picture below you will see a flat disc next to the handle. This is one of my favorite parts it is a built-in food slider that easily pushes all food off the skewer quick and easy!

So how well do they work? Well, let's try them. Cave tools are great for use on the grill and they also can be used in the oven. Normally I would use the grill but here in Louisville its been raining so much the Ohio River has come out of its banks flooding many homes. At my house, I have not flooded but everything is super soggy. Because of that, I had not grilled in over a week and as my luck would have it I opened the grill to find a mouse who I guess decided he wanted to keep dry. Well so much for the grill so I decided to use the oven.

On tonight's menu...Teriyaki Chicken and Pineapple Skewers. I used 4 chicken breasts which I cut into chunks and placed in a bowl. Next, I poured 1/2 a bottle of store-bought Teriyaki sauce over the chicken and stirred to coat. ( save the rest of the Teriyaki sauce for later) Cover it and I put it back in the fridge for about an hour or so. I cut up some onions and green peppers and opened a can of pineapple chunks. Now the fun part Threading the chicken, vegetables, and fruit onto the skewers. As you can see the skewers are 15.5 inches long so they hold quite a bit of food. (I would have added more to mine but this was the largest baking sheet I had)

Next, under the broiler, they went for about 4-5 minutes per side.

I served them over a bed of brown rice with a drizzle of the remaining Teriyaki sauce left in the bottle. Quick and easy dinner!

Did I mention the Cave Tool Skewers are dishwasher safe? Yes they are! So right into the dishwasher, they went and when they were dried I put them in the handy case that is included with the set.

Let me tell you a little bit about their guarantee. This is how much they stand behind their products!!
